Stuart Dean’s founder, Edward Joseph Degan, is born in New York City.

1932

Stuart Dean is incorporated as a business in the State of New York.
The company opens its first office on 23rd Street in Manhattan.   
                                                            

1939

  Stuart Dean receives its first big commission 
  cleaning and maintaining the "New Soviet Man" 
  in front of the Russian Pavilion at the 1939
  World’s Fair in New York City.

1956

Stuart Dean begins to offer marble restoration services.

1962

The office grows and is relocated from 54th Street and 6th Avenue to 366 10th Avenue. Stuart Dean begins to offer façade restoration services.

1964

Stuart Dean opens an office in Los Angeles, California, the company’s first office outside of New York.

1968

Stuart Dean opens its Chicago office.

1972

Stuart Dean opens its Boston office.

1975

Stuart Dean opens its Philadelphia office.

1985

Stuart Dean service crews complete the company’s first international jobs in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and Singapore.

1986

Stuart Dean opens its Miami office.

1987

Stuart Dean opens its Washington, D.C. and Phoenix offices

1989

Stuart Dean opens its San Francisco office.

1991

Stuart Dean opens its Atlanta and Columbus offices.

1992

Stuart Dean opens its Orange County, California office.

1995

Stuart Dean opens its Pittsburgh office.

1996

Stuart Dean introduces wood restoration as a core service offering.

Stuart Dean opens its Charlotte and Cleveland offices.

1997

Stuart Dean opens its Dallas office.

1998

Stuart Dean opens its Kansas City and St. Louis offices.

1999

Stuart Dean opens its San Diego office.

2000

Stuart Dean opens its Richmond office.

Stuart Dean adds glass polishing and escalator cleaning to its service offerings.

2001

Stuart Dean forms a National Accounts division to service businesses with multiple properties, stores, or restaurants.

Stuart Dean forms a Technical Services group to sell and project-manage façade restoration services.

2002

Stuart Dean opens its first international office in Toronto, Canada.

2005

Stuart Dean moves its corporate headquarters from 366 10th Avenue to 450 7th Avenue in New York City.

Stuart Dean opens its Houston office.

2006

Stuart Dean opens training center in Cleveland, Ohio.

Stuart Dean opens its Nashville office.

2007

Stuart Dean celebrates its 75th year of business. The company maintains 26 offices and more than 600 employees and services clients across the United States and Canada.

2008

Stuart Dean introduces green products.            

Stuart Dean introduces PURETi products, which keep surfaces cleaner longer using UV light to activate. Stuart Dean expands the Glass Restoration Division and adds Grout Solutions to its suite of services.

2009

Stuart Dean adds Marcoat® Thermo Setting Grout solutions for  Commercial Kitchens to its suite of services.
