NEW YORK CITY– October 18, 2012 – Stuart Dean, an international provider of renowned architectural restoration services, has restored wood paneling and metal hardware throughout the historic Loews Philadelphia Hotel, a skyscraper built in 1929 as the headquarters of the Philadelphia Savings Fund Society (PSFS). Considered one of the most significant buildings of the 20th century, the Loews Philadelphia Hotel is a National Historic Landmark. PSFS commissioned the construction of the 36-story, 491-foot skyscraper in the midst of the Great Depression. Today, the building’s materials would be nearly impossible to afford. For example, the once three-story banking room is now a banquet space that has preserved the historical features, such as the bank’s safe, Cartier clocks and original marble. The prestigious top floor of the building has also been maintained as part of the hotel.
