HR Coordinator

We are currently seeking a HR Coordinator to join the HR team at Stuart Dean. Reporting to the SVP of HR, the HR Coordinator will be responsible for various administrative functions within the benefits, talent management, HRIS and recruitment areas. This individual must be able to multi-task, work independently and efficiently in a constantly changing environment, pay attention to detail, and have strong customer relations skills. We expect the individual to demonstrate and maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, employment law and new technologies within the HR field.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assists with recruitment efforts, including job postings, interview coordination, conducting background checks and reference checks for potential employees
  • Effectively onboards new hires and ensures that paperwork and system set up is completed timely to support an effective onboarding experience
  • Manages the entire offboarding process, including exit interviews for terminated employees
  • Effectively manages internal changes including letters, updating HRIS system and coordination of documentation. Processes required documents through payroll and insurance providers to ensure accurate record-keeping and proper deductions for new hires, wage increases, terminations etc.
  • Maintains accurate employee files and data integrity in the HRIS system including I-9 files
  • Works with Health, Safety & Services Officer to manage the end to end process on Workers Compensation claims
  • Administers benefits and retirement plans to ensure that employees are kept up to date with the services provided to them and administration of information is accurate. Works with vendors to make sure that all plans are administered in accordance with federal and state regulations, and that plan provisions are followed
  • Assists with implementation, administration, and education of company-wide human resources policies, procedures, and practices
  • Handles routine correspondence for Human Resources including offer letters, employment verifications, benefits enrollment and workers compensation, and files documents into appropriate employee files
  • Answers all employees’ questions accurately and timely to ensure they feel well supported
  • Reconciles HR invoices for review and approval by the SVP, HR
  • Runs and prepares standard monthly reporting
  • Works on special projects and other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

  • College graduate interested in pursuing a career in HR
  • 2 years related experience and basic knowledge of labor laws a plus
  • SHRM-CP credential a plus
  • Exposure to Workers Compensation administration a plus
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Sense of confidentiality a must
  • High attention to detail and ability to execute with excellence
  • Knowledge and experience with Visio a plus
  • Excellent computer skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Working knowledge of an HRIS systems a plus
